ABOUT MOLLY SHMERLING, PSY.D.

I am a Denver-based psychologist, however, I was born and raised in Newton, MA. I moved out here to pursue my doctorate and have stayed ever since. I love the outdoors and spending time with my dog, Bosley, (pictured below) who is available to join in-person sessions upon request! I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love and aim to bring my authentic personality into each of our sessions through humor, compassion, and genuine curiosity.

How I work

Getting you where you want to go - one step at a time.

My integrative approach to therapy is rooted in a variety of theoretical models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy as well as Family Systems and Attachment theories. I engage clients with openness and humility while honoring diversity in all its forms by helping clients embrace their unique strengths and values. I am committed to helping you break your cycle, empower you to take risks, and lead you to a place of self-compassion.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adult populations. I enjoy working with issues of gender and sexuality, interpersonal and relationship concerns, family of origin issues, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders through individual and group therapy.
